This is the End

After 269 posts and 156 flamewars, Happy Fun Time has ended...for now. Everybody should have received an e-mail about their new account for theocdisorder.com. I'm leaving HFT open for a week in case something happens, but please post on the OCDisorder from now on. After a week, HFT will become a permanent archive with no more users.

New Blog Is Almost Ready

I just finished tweaking some final tech issues, so barring something unforeseen, the new blog is almost good to go. It's powered by WordPress, which is, in many ways, a lot more powerful than blogger (like a built in Recent Comments system that I've been clamoring for). David selected the theme, layout, and fonts, basically most everything, and did a really nice job in my opinion.

Anyway, I don't know where David is, but I think he has a few more pre-launch plans, so until then, check it out at theocdisorder.com, and wait to hear the final announcement from him. In the meantime, I'm gonna tweak around some more, and hopefully not break anything.

Someone has mysteriously shown up on my Myspace friend's list

Who is this guy?

I did not add him, nor have I had any friend requests in the past couple of days. He does not show up in the "edit friends" section, so I can't delete him. Am I imagining things or something? You see him too right? My Myspace

I deleted my Hobbit post to post this because this is a lot more interesting than people believing that Hobbits actually existed.

[EDIT]: I just found 2 friend requests in my pending requests for people I don't know. WHAT IS GOING ON?

I don't know this kid

I don't know this girl either

P.S. Way to go Ron lol.

Stranded in Rancho Cucamonga

I just came back from Rancho Cucamonga after being "stranded" there overnight. KC and I went up there to see a friend. We took KC's car, which was recently serviced at a Midas. It got new brake pads, rotors, and calipers. When got to Corona, the front passenger side wheel made a God awful noise. KC took the wheel apart and found the caliper was missing a bolt that held the assembly in place. The bolt probably wasn't tighten and fell out. There was no damage to the car, but KC managed to tighten the lone bolt and it kept the caliper in place, as long as it wasn't used.

So, the car was driveable as long as KC used the emergency brake and not the foot brake. It was about 11 PM already. We drove to a 24 hour AutoZone and a WalMart to find a bolt. They didn't have the specific bolt, which apparently is only used for Asian cars, like a Honda. We got to Rancho where our friend was and stayed at his house since it was already midnight. The next morning, our friend drove us to Lowe's, Home Depot, and another AutoZone. No correct size bolt. Went to NAPA Auto Parts. They had the bolt, but it was slightly too long. Enough for it to rub against the rotor. So back to Lowe's for a washer. By 3:30 PM, 17 hours after the first sign of trouble, we finally got a temporary fix and drove back to Orange County. KC missed his morning classes and half a day of work. F*ck Midas.

There's a legal precedent that I can't recall saying this is unconstitutional

How the hell is this even constitutional? From the article:

Mayor Norman McCourt said starting Wednesday the city will begin trying to evict groups who do not fit into Black Jack’s definition of family ...

The current ordinance prohibits more than three people from living together unless they are related by "blood, marriage or adoption." The defeated measure would have changed the definition of a family to include unmarried couples with two or more children.

EDIT (05/18/2006): Oops, in my zeal to properly format the post, I must have accidentally erased the hyperlink. In any case, here's the article. Sorry for the confusion!

This is Almost Uncaptionable

Oh, Britney Spears...

Your thoughts?

This is disgusting.

Has anyone seen those new Oreo commercials with the licking contests? The first one I saw was the one with the little girl and the old lady at the diner. Well there's a new one with cops. It seriously grosses me out so much. I tried to find a screenshot of it on Google, but once again the internet has failed me. Everytime I see that commercial I have to change the channel or look away though. Please tell me I'm not the only one bothered by that image.

It's About Goddamn Time

Verizon stock takes hit on $50 billion lawsuit - May. 15, 2006

Two New Jersey lawyers on behalf of all Verizon subscribers sued Verizon for disclosing billions of phone records to the government and are asking $1,000 for each of the company's 50 million customers.

If the Democrats aren't willing to stand up to this obvious unconstitutional violation, then we'll have to sue. I keep hearing NSA apologists saying, "Oh, as long as they're not listening to us and using the records to only track down the terrorists, then it's fine." First of all, they can wiretap now without a warrant. Second, how do we know they're just using the information to track down the terrorists? There's no proof. We're just taking the government's word. There's absolutely no oversight.

OC crap

Is it possible for a non-citizen to receive a jury duty notice???

I am not a citizen, I have never registered to vote. I received a jury duty notice the other day. Is that possible? Am I missing something?

What Season Is It?

No, not spring, you sad fucks. It's mango season! Yes, the market is brimming with the juiciest fruit alive. Mmm mangoes. Anyone else a fan? Personally, when I go to the market to pick some up, I buy a couple soft, yellow ones that I can devour right when I get home. I also pick up a couple red and green ones, a little harder, for later. Seeing them sitting there on my window, knowing that in a few days they'll be ripe and ready, what a sight, what a delectable thought! Best...fruit...ever
